Our Story

Martins Machine opened the doors in 1994 in Perth Amboy, NJ. Martins Machine was started in a one car garage by Pam and Joao Martins, producing small components for valves and assemblies utilizing one small tool-room lathe. This did not last long as they soon began leasing a facility to accommodate the rapid growth of Martins Machine. Martins Machine began making larger and more critical components for valves, as well as gaining customers in new industries such as copper wire extrusion and turbo pumps. Unfortunately, the building that Martins Machine was leasing was sold to a developer, and in 2005 Martins Machine was forced out. Joao took this opportunity to relocate to Camden, SC. While in Camden, Martins continued producing components for valves and wire extruders, and began manufacturing for new industrial segments such as industrial filtration and rail car braking systems. Due to leasing issues again, Martins was once again forced to relocate. In 2010, Martins Machine purchased its very own facility in Lancaster, SC. Today, Martins Machine has branched out to manufacturing in the industrial hydraulic, automation, and electric motor sectors while continuing to serve the valve, turbo pump, and wire extrusion customers that we have worked with since the very beginning.
